Instructional Swims for boys and girls ages 6 to 14 are taught by BSA National Camp School, Aquatics Section certified instructors, and introduce swimming skills to non-swimmers, and beginners, in a values-based environment.
Skill Level 1 & 2 program is designed to help students feel comfortable in the water. Basic aquatic skills are taught, which student build on as they progress through the 4 skill levels. In Level 1, students start developing good attitudes and safe practices around the water. In Level 2 students will achieve success in fundamental skills, they learn to float without support and begin basic locomotion skills while exploring simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions on the front and back.
Skill Level 3 & 4 program provides additional guided practice. Students coordinate the back and front crawl. Elements of other strokes, treading water, and entering deep water. Level 4 student work on stroke improvement and endurance. Additional stroke elements are also introduced.
The instructional swim fee is $65.00 for the entire 5 lesson program.
All lessons take place June 16-20.
