FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q. What is Exploring?
A. Exploring is a program designed to allow you to get a hands on, behind the scenes look at different career choices. You will learn how much different careers pay, what kind of education you need, and what steps you can take now to help you enter that field. In addition, you will have a great time too! You will make new friends and take part in a number of activities that are just for fun.

Q. What is the age group?
A. Ages 14-20 (completed 8th grade), male and female are eligible to join.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Not much! The basic registration, depending on the time of year you join, is between $7.00 and $10.00. Some Exploring posts have additional expenses and dues to cover costs but that is determined by the members of the post.

Q. How much time does it take?
A. Most Posts meet twice a month for about one and a half hours. Can’t make every meeting? Not a problem! We understand you have a lot going on. There is no attendance requirement. Most meet at a time that is best for the entire group.

Q. What if I don't like it?
A. Hey, that's what this is all about! Exploring helps you find out now if you like or don’t like a certain career. If you find out a certain field is not for you, join another post in another field! In fact, you can join as many posts as you wish for the once a year-registration fee, and yes, you can join more than one at a time.

Q. How do I join?
A. E-mail us, fill out the provided form which can be found under Request Information or just call the Advisor listed under the career post you're interested in.. The Advisor is an adult (over 21) volunteer who helps the club with resources and programs as needed. He or she is most likely an expert in their field who is dedicated to helping you in your career choice. You can also call Exploring Executive Amy Heller at 330.773.0415 Ext. 27
