
Third Annual Exploring Conference March 31- April 1, 2001 at the Youngstown Air Force Base in Vienna, Ohio. All registered Explorers, Venturers and Boy Scouts ages 14 and older from Northeast Ohio are welcome to attend. The cost is $60 per person, and that includes food and activities, some of which are: Paramedic/Firefighting, Advertising/Marketing, C-130 Cargo Aircraft Tour, Aircraft Survival Equipment Shop, Fire Arms Training Simulator, Law/Law Enforcement, Team Building Exercises, Sherlock Holmes activity, and a Vollyball Tournament. Adult Venture Leader Basic Training March 10, 2001, 9am-3pm at Camp Manatoc Trading Post for Adult Venture/Explorer Leaders. If you are interestested, please RSVP by March 6 to Lou at 330-773-0415 extension 30. There will be a $5.00 for class materials.

Recharters: It is time once again for Exploring and Venturing units to recharter. This means that if you are a post advisor or crew leader and have received your recharter packet you need your adults to renew their yearly membership of $7.00 each. Any returning Explorers or Venturers need to pay $7.00 for the year along with your $20.00 annuarl charter fee. Your charter needs to be signed and returned to Lou Brennan by January 5th. If you have any questions about the rechartering process please call Lou at 330-773-0415 extension 30.
2001 National Law Enforcement/FBI Explorer Leadership Academy From June 16-June 23, 2001 and July 7-14, 2001 thirty Law Enforcement Explorers will have the unique experience of participating in a National Law Enforcement/FBI Explorer Leadership Academy conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. The selection process information and application can be found on the National Learning for Life website.
2001 National Fire/Emergency Services Exploring Conference Takes place June 25-June 29 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The program is several days of exciting team competitions and individual events. If you have any questions, check out the website at www.conference.gatech.edu.
New Programs: The exploring division welcomes our newest career awareness program sponsored by Montrose Ford. They are committed to providing hands-on activities in the field of automotive repairs and auto body. We welcome them to our division.
We also welcome the Clinton Fire Department and the Ravenna Fire Department to the program.
New Member: Exploring Executive Board's newest member in finance is Dave Meeker of Edward Howard Company in Akron. He will serve as our Friends of Scouting Chair for the year 2000. Welcome!
